Valentina Montoya Robledo

Valentina Montoya Robledo is a full-time professor and director of the Law and Public Policy Clinic at ITAM.

She holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) from Harvard University, and is a lawyer, political scientist, and holds a Master's degree in Law from Universidad de los Andes.

She is affiliated with the Transport Studies Unit at the University of Oxford, where she was Senior Researcher in Gender and Mobility and has worked on care, mobility, and gender in Latin America and Africa. She was also a Junior Research Fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford, and is a member of the Law and Gender Research Group at Universidad de los Andes.

She directs the transmedia project Invisible Commutes and the documentary Invisible, on the mobility of domestic workers in Latin America. For this work, she received the Highly Commended – Engagement and Impact Award (2025) from the School of Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford, in recognition of her contribution to the conversation on mobility from a gender and vulnerability perspective.

She was a professor at the Faculty of Law of Universidad de los Andes and a gender and transport consultant for the Transport Gender Lab of the Inter-American Development Bank. She was a recipient of the Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarship (2019).

She also currently works as a consultant, researcher, and lawyer on issues of the right to the city and to mobility, domestic work, gender, care, and human rights.
